Not sure about the superior craftsmanship but the bat definitely feels rock hard and does help you be more accurate . I have hit balls further with this bat than my aluminum bats

Pros: The axe grip feels awesome. The bat looks awesome.

Cons: The cup in the end of the bat is off center and not in a way that makes sense with the onesided hitting .

Bottom Line: I would recommend to a friend
